The Different Request Types

There are seven DSAR request types that a data subject may choose, all of which may be chosen simultaneously. Below is a brief explanation for each option:

Inquiry - A general request sent to the organization. This option is for the data subject who wish to see what personal information the organization has collected and maintained.

Access - This option is to allow the data subject the ability to access and view any personal information collected.

Update - This is a request to have any personal information changed about a person. This can include updating a last name, address, or any other information.

Delete - This is a request to have the data subject's personal information deleted from the organization's database.

Transfer - This is a request to have the data subject's personal information transferred to another third-party organization.

Restrict Processing - This request informs the organization that the data subject does not wish for their personal information to be used in a certain manner.

Complaint - This option can be used to issue a complain about any way in which the data subject's information is being handled.

Note that all changes or requests for deletion may be subject to regulations and rules set by higher authorities.
