Why can’t I enter certain characters into different fields?
Every field can potentially be treated differently based on the needs of that field.
For example, a phone number only needs to allow for numbers, while the name or address fields may need to accommodate additional characters like periods (.), hyphens (-) and apostrophes (‘). We do not allow certain characters to be entered into any field to ensure that our systems and your data are secure.
Although certain fields have custom validation, the following characters are often valid for text entry fields:
a-z A-Z 0-9 . ? ! " , & ' ‘ ’ - : ; / [ ]
If you receive an error due to use of a special character, please remove the special character and attempt to save.
